Installed Years of Possible Chinese Drywall Extended (Update 2022)

Update: The Consumer Product Safety Commission still has the dates as 2001 to 2009 as their main years for potential problem drywall to be installed. That means that if you installed drywall in any compacity during those years it is possible. We have found the vast majority of chinese drywall came from 2005 and 2006 period. Now, ten years after this article was written most of the houses that were impacted have been remediated. There were many lawsuits and many people got money to fix their homes. As a result the amount of impacted homes is now significantly lower than it use to be.

The CPSC has extended the time period that Chinese Drywall is thought to have been installed. Because of installations that were identified with a 2009 installation date, the CPSC now includes the years 2001-2009 as a potential Chinese drywall installation if the drywall was installed during that time period.
